News and Happenings
We are entering the 94th year of the Springfield Ceramics and Crafts Club. Much has been accomplished during those 94 years but most impressive is how we create an atmosphere where artists and craftsmen can share ideas, learn from each other, create, explore, innovate and have fun together.
Welcome to our new members!! Over my short 5 years as a member, I have developed deep & lasting friendships. By attending classes, meeting new women and working at events I was able to fill a void in my life that came after my retirement. My hope is that you’ll also find value in all our classes and events and that you’ll make new and lasting friendships.
Thanks to all our active and life members who have contributed to the success of SCCC. The traditions and legacy you created lead us today.
During 2018/2019 the Board Members want to enhance our community involvement through a new program we call Holiday Outreach. We also hope to increase our marketing efforts by revamping our Facebook presence and highlighting our talented members in the studio and on our website. I often think we are the best kept secret in Springfield. Over the years we have had much success with our two main fundraising events, the Holiday Market/Cookie Walk and the Table Setting Luncheon, but we’re looking for additional ways to supplement income in support of keeping our beautiful studio safe and well-maintained. We always welcome your ideas and suggestions to help us achieve our mission.
I personally am looking forward to a rewarding year, learning new crafts, exploring new techniques, creating something beautiful and spending time with all of you!
